Shelly is the first Brawler that you can play as, and new Brawlers become available as you progress in the game. The trophies that you earn while you play as a certain character will be collected in their account. You will have an overall trophy balance that is made of all your Brawler balances.

Each character has individual skillset profiles. The Brawlers are categorized into rarities called Chromatic, Common, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Rare, and Super Rare. You can get new brawlers by opening Brawler Boxes. The game modes that you can play include Brawl Ball, Bounty, Duo Showdown, Gem Grab, Heist, Hot Zone, and Showdown. Power points can be used to level up your Brawler.

Coins can be used to upgrade your characters after a certain number of power points are achieved. Your power levels will unlock gadgets and star powers that can be used during battle. Duo, solo, or 3v3 events are available to play.

Friendly Games are available after you earn 100 trophies. Since you will not gain nor loose trophies in the Friendly Game matches, Friendly Games are ideal for gaining practice or leisure time. You can play a Friendly Game in any game mode with all the maps available to choose from.

Friendly Games lets you invite nine players. You can play against bots in case you do not have people to invite. You can launch a Friendly Game by tapping the hamburger menu to click on ‘Friendly Game’. Brawl Stars has a Map Maker feature that lets you create your own maps after you reach 1000 trophies. You can submit your map creations into competitions.

Brawl Stars has basic gameplay that lets you walk, shoot, and use powers. You can interact with the arenas by demolishing walls or walking through grass. Skins are available in the shop to purchase with star points. You can customize the appearance of your Brawlers with skins.
