Punch Your Enemies in This MOBA Game
Brawl Stars is a free-to-play 3-vs-3 strategy mobile game by Supercell wherein you take on online opponents by shooting, blowing up bombs, and punching them in glorious fast-paced multiplayer mayhem. Similar in art style to Supercell’s other games like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, Brawl Stars is a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game and has several game modes to make up for its lack of a single-player main campaign story. Despite it being made for smartphones, you can still play this title on your computer with the Android emulator Tencent Gaming Buddy.
The Way of the Brawler
Brawl Stars features a large selection of playable characters just like how other MOBA games do it. Here, you get to play cute-looking Brawlers, who each have unique personalities and skills you can use to your advantage. However, not all of them are free—you’ll either need to work hard to unlock most of them or use some real money to take a shortcut. Brawl Stars also lets you dress them up in cool-looking skins that you can earn or buy, as well, and they possess super abilities that can be used the longer you fight and passive skills you can unlock along the way. Aside from the various game modes, Brawl Stars always looks fresh with the Brawlers you can have in your team.
Third Time’s the Charm
Like other MOBAs, you’ll be heavily invested in forming teams with either strangers or your very own friends. In Brawl Stars, however, the member limit is only up to three and so you’ll need to choose your Brawlers carefully. You can also take on the game’s various challenges on your own or with a loyal partner since there are other game modes that cater to solo and duo play. The small number of players on the arena compared to other MOBAs is one of Brawl Star’s highlights. Your battlefield is smaller than most but is still tricky enough and you have to be clever in making use of the small space against your opponents.
Never Be Bored
There are more than 5 multiplayer game modes in Brawl Stars and each offers a fun time for you and your friends. The popular Gem Grab has you racing against the enemy team of 3 players to collect and hold onto 10 gems on the map for as long as you can. Showdown is for single and two players in a battle royale fight on the map—complete with power-ups to boost your Brawler. Bounty is similar to Gem Grab but instead of gems, you collect stars and can only get them by taking out your opponents. Heist, on the other hand, is a base defense kind of mode, in which you have to crack open your enemy’s safe while protect your team’s own safe. You can even play soccer or football on the map with Brawl Ball. Brawl Stars offers tons of special and limited-time events, as well.
Always Clobberin’ Time
For a Supercell game, Brawl Stars is overall well-made and highly addictive in its fun. It suffers the same old problems with games in real-time and this isn’t too bad of an issue compared to how well Brawl Stars performs for most of its players. Playing on your PC using Tencent Gaming Buddy can help in correcting the connection problems, so this is a recommended game to try in Supercell’s line-up.
