Each character has individual skillset profiles. The Brawlers are categorized into rarities called Chromatic, Common, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Rare, and Super Rare. You can get new brawlers by opening Brawler Boxes.  As proof of its thriving community, influencers, and professional players even subscribe to a Brawl Stars tier list that sorts Brawlers on who is the best and mostly used in the online games.

The game modes that you can play include Brawl Ball, Bounty, Duo Showdown, Gem Grab, Heist, Hot Zone, and Showdown. Power points can be used to level up your Brawler. Coins can be used to upgrade your characters after a certain number of power points are achieved. Your power levels will unlock gadgets and star powers that can be used during battle. Solo, duo, or 3v3 events are available to play via the Brawl Stars online servers. 

Friendly Games are available after you earn 100 trophies. Since you will not gain nor lose trophies in the Friendly Game matches, Friendly Games are ideal for gaining practice or leisure time. You can play a Friendly Game in any game mode with all the maps available to choose from.

Friendly Games lets you invite nine players. You can play against bots in case you do not have people to invite. You can launch a Friendly Game by tapping the hamburger menu to click on ‘Friendly Game’. Brawl Stars has a Map Maker feature that lets you create your own maps after you reach 1000 trophies. You can submit your map creations into competitions.

Latest updates and quality-of-life improvements

With a focus on refining the competitive experience and injecting fresh content into the mix, Brawl Stars’s most recent update promises to keep you on the edge of your seat. The star of the show is undoubtedly the overhaul of the ranked system. Bid farewell to Power League and welcome the all-new Ranked mode, where only Brawlers at Power Level 9 and above are eligible to join the fray.

A more tiered Ranked gameplay structure has been introduced, wherein matches adopt a best-of-1 format without a ban phase from Bronze to Gold III. Meanwhile, Diamond I and above feature a best-of-3 format with bans. At the same time, rank resets happen at the start of each new season, where all players’s ranks revert to Bronze I. Beyond that, ranked matches now feature modifiers, injecting an extra layer of strategy into each encounter.

On the other hand, a new reporting system allows players to flag unsportsmanlike conduct, cheating, and poor teamwork. Due to this, players are now held accountable for their behavior through a reputation meter, with penalties for repeated infractions. There’s also a new feature called Ranked Starr Drops, which is a reward system where victorious players can snag bling, cosmetics, and even exclusive skins from past and future ranked seasons.

Beyond changes to the Ranked mode, the update also brings two additional faces to the battlefield—Angelo and Melodie. One’s a sharpshooter who can traverse water and unleash toxic puddles, while the other is an assassin armed with musical prowess and can manipulate sound waves to confound her foes. Also, there are additional seasonal game modes called Trophy Escape and Hypercharge Unleashed, while new maps called Starrcade and Tara’s Bazaar have been introduced.

Brawl Stars has basic gameplay that lets you walk, shoot, and use powers. You can interact with the arenas by demolishing walls or walking through grass. Skins are available in the shop to purchase with star points. You can customize the appearance of your Brawlers with skins. Pins are another cosmetic part of Brawl Stars that you can flash while you play.
